When I'm not renovating Bridge Cottage, I'm working for Sitekit Solutions Ltd in Portree. This is my main 9-5 job, and helps me fund the building work. I work as the Lead Systems Administrator, maintaining, fixing and upgrading their computer systems, most of which are actually based in Telehouse in the London Docklands. I am qualified as both a Microsoft Certified Professional, and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer - Microsoft's top IT qualifications.
Outside from Sitekit, I also carry out IT consultancy to individuals and small businesses located in Skye. There is a shortage of qualified IT professionals in the area, and so I help out where I can with a whole range of IT matters. Some examples of the sort of consultancy I provide are:
