This is a picture of Bridge Cottage before the major renovations started. This picture was taken while I was carrying out some temporary repairs to try to make the house weather tight..

This is 3 months on, taken during November 2002. As you can see there have been some substantial alterations. These include removing the original roof, increasing the wall heads by 30cm, adding new lintels where required, constructing the new roof on site by hand and getting the whole thing built and watertight...

The picture above was taken just after I took over the house, in late February 2000. The weather, as always on Skye, was spectacular.

This picture shows Bridge Cottage when I had just about finished removing the old render. Considering it had blown in many places, where it hadn't it was very difficult to remove. Removing the render saw off two SDS hammer drills as well as my arms!

This picture shows Bridge Cottage with the rendering completed. This will eventually be painted white. It's all finally beginning to take shape...

Quite a lot has changed inside the house since the previous picture was taken in April. From the outside though everything looks the same.

This picture was taken just before Christmas 2004. Skye tends to get some of it's best weather in the winter - cold, crisp bright mornings, with snow on the mountains.
